The winner of 'De Jonge Ondernemingsprijs van het Noorden 2019' will be announced on Thursday evening 3 October. After the semi-final and the completion of an intensive process, the jury will determine who has earned the  title this year. The three finalists are Jessica Kuiken from Marketing Crew from Franeker, Nutte van Belzen from CC Diagnostics from Groningen and Frans Filius from Grutte Pier Brouwerij from Leeuwarden.

CC Diagnostics

CC Diagnostics is developing a new test for cervical cancer that makes testing more efficient, cheaper and more woman-friendly. The company was founded by three students from the University of Groningen: Jean-Luc Kraaijenoord, Wisse Krikke and Nutte van Belzen. In collaboration with researchers from the UMCG, this DNA hypermethylation PCR test is valorised, which ultimately leads to an annual cost saving of 120M in Europe. After an extensive testing and development phase, the intention is to have the technology available to doctors and patients in the Netherlands and Europe in 2022.
